“Crafting ideas” requires a creative mindset supported through several disciplines – exactly what STEM learning aims to provide. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is a problem-solving, interdisciplinary approach and helps kids and adults create multiple solutions and ideas, while working through challenges to obtain a feasible result.

In 1901, Frank Hornby from Liverpool, invented and patented a new toy called “Mechanics Made Easy”, a construction kit consisting of perforated metal strips, plates and grinders with wheels, pulleys and various gear shafts of collars and axels for mechanisms and motion. This is now the well-known “MECCANO” construction set that has grown together with several generations of engineers and technicians with extensive experience in collaborative problem-solving fostered by Meccano.

Now is your chance to take the leap forward and compete in our Meccano construction session! Friday, November 17th at the Systems & Components Future Lounge in Hall 17 G02, a STEM based Meccano consruction session / competition will be held from 15.15 onwards. The goal is to translate into a model the concept of STEM learning. All participants will receive a prize with the winner receiving a soft shell AGRITECHNICA jacket. Don’t miss your chance to win an AGRITECHNICA jacket and show everyone what STEM learning means to you!
