The fifth edition of agro AgroTech West Africa will be held in Abidjan in Ivory Coast from November 20 – 22, 2018. Thanks to its strategic location and excellent infrastructure, Ivory Coast is the ideal location for this trade fair. The major West African markets, apart from Nigeria, are Ghana, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali and Benin, and according to the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), West Africa imported agricultural technology at a value of EUR 187.2 million in 2016.
The West African agricultural market has a very promising medium-term development, encouraged by large investments in agricultural technology. Exhibitors at agro AgroTech West Africa focus on ag machinery and technology, seeds, animal production, greenhouse technology as well as floriculture and horticulture with a solely professional visitor base.
According to the Food and Agricultural Organization, “Ending hunger is both a moral and an economic imperative. With strategic concerted efforts, it is a dream that is possible by 2030.” One of the keys to addressing this issue is through greater investment in agriculture and increased agricultural productivity, including higher levels of irrigation and technologies.
